The Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and organised Trade Marketing Manager to lead the development and execution of promotional activity across Germany. This role plays a key part in ensuring sales excellence at the point of purchase across a range of channels, including grocery, convenience, petrol, wholesale, discount, and on-trade. Here’s how:

  • Build and manage a national trade promotion calendar tailored to German market needs.
  • Coordinate central and commercial teams, bottler partners, and agencies to deliver POS materials and promotions.
  • Develop sell-in tools, dealer loaders, and customer-specific promotional toolkits.
  • Manage creative briefing, artwork development, production, and timely delivery of campaigns.
  • Oversee campaign rollouts, prize fulfilment, and national events (e.g. MotoGP activations).
  • Track campaign performance, ROI, and ensure trade marketing initiatives align with sales and budget plans.
  • Support wider brand visibility through bottler events and key sales meetings.

About You:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in Trade Marketing or Sales Activation within FMCG (drinks experience preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of the German retail and customer landscape.
  • Confident in project management, cross-functional collaboration, and agency coordination.
  • Skilled in developing and executing impactful in-store and B2B trade campaigns.
  • Highly organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluent in German and English (spoken and written).
  • Willingness to travel occasionally across Germany and Europe.

POSITION OVERVIEW

As part of the German Commercial business unit team, you will be ensuring that we deliver high quality sales execution across a wide range of channels: grocery, discount, convenience, petrol, wholesale, and on premise, to drive sales at the Point of Sale.

This person manages the trade execution needs of the German business unit and bottler to coordinate the creation and facilitation of POS and Promotion programmes and the surrounding communication tools and content. Working closely between central teams, commercial channel departments and bottler teams, this person enables better sales execution to drive the business forward.

This person project manages the creation and delivery of sales promotion programmes that are tailored to the German business needs. The toolbox of promotions should accommodate a sell-in story, POS material, dealer loader, a promotion setup and consumer winner management. National rollouts as well as channel or customer specific execution. Furthermore, managing of sales supporting programmes include B2B and B2C with bottler incentives, trade incentives and promotions according to the set metrics as agreed with the bottler. For national and channel rollout and actual execution, this person leads the delivery according to the budget, sales business plan and bottler requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Create a country specific Promotion plan in collaboration with the central team.
  • Brief and coordinate EMEA and Plug & Play Promotions internally (central and commercial team) and externally (bottler).
  • Devise an exciting promotional concept with our marketing assets.
  • Develop customer specific promotions in consideration of customer/channel needs.
  • Manage our Dealer Loaders (briefing/ order process / tracking / coordination).
  • Create an informative sell in deck to share with the commercial team and bottler.
  • Brief and coordinate Artworks internally (central team) and externally (bottler).

  • Work with artwork agency to create artworks and a tool kit (advertisement, POS material, etc.) for each campaign.
  • Customise each tool kit for that local country specific and/or customer needs with artwork agency, central team and bottler.
  • Work with printer or bottler to ensure tool kit is printed and delivered in time before launch.
  • Work with bottler or agency to make sure the promotional mechanic (enter online, exchange with the departments, etc.) goes live on launch date.
  • Coordinate any relevant hospitality required and manage prize fulfilment together with the central team (e.g. MotoGP weekend at Catalunya).
  • Get in touch directly with winners or work with external service agencies (e.g. W-Com).
  • Analysis/reporting on promotion / manage the project plan effectively.
  • Be responsible for the review and compliance with the trade marketing budget.
  • Develop our Promotion and POS Management continuously (e.g. process, tools, etc.).
  • Work with the channel teams on specific tools required to deliver the business plan and support driving these initiatives forward with central teams.
  • Work with regulatory and NPD for new on-pack campaigns.
  • Organize our Brand presentation on bottler events (e.g. CCEP Kick-off, CCEP Field Accelerate Meetings, etc.).

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • University degree in business administration, management, or a similar field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in Trade Marketing or a business/channel role in the beverage or other FMCG categories.
  • Strong knowledge of in-store brand activation across various retail environments.
  • Proven experience in efficiently leading and collaborating with creative agencies.
  • Project management skills, coordinating campaigns and cross-functional teams.
  • Cross-functional collaboration and teamwork - especially in matrix organisations.
  • Highly organized and the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid understanding of the German market and customer landscape.
  • Hands-on mentality - valued in fast-paced FMCG environments.
  • Fluent in German and English, both spoken and written.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally, including overnight stays.
